| Savvy New Fashion Generation |
 |
Expect the unexpected when emerging young designers present a fashion show! The 20 students from School of Continuing & Professional Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong demonstrated their outfits in a runway show yesterday, proving that the next generation of fashion designers is ready to take on the world.
| 'Cross Vision, New Mission' Lifestyle Exhibition |
 |
Cross Vision, New Mission is a collaborative project featuring 10 artist groups from varying backgrounds and disciplines. The project provides them with a platform to showcase their creativity and reach out to a wider market potential.
The experiment has yielded unexpected results: a fantastical mascot comes to life from a pure graphic; hairstyle or make-up designs turn into an abstract video montage; and sculptures & installations materialise from pages of illustrations. Interest is created as original ideas take on lives of their own.

Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer
¡°I am very impressed with the increasing number of exhibitors at the fair and the changes are incredible. Hong Kong is a very interesting city for foreign visitors. In 2010, we will be holding the 26th IAF World Apparel Convention in Hong Kong, which is a very important location for trade in the world. It will be our third conference in the city and we are evaluating cooperation opportunities between the conference and Hong Kong Fashion Week. IAF is a global association including clothing associations and companies. The conference will enable networking and knowledge exchange while industry players take the chance to have fun together.¡±
Vassilis Masselos, President, International Apparel Federation (IAF), headquartered in The Netherlands (www.iafnet.com)
"I have found many companies with stock very suitable for my company, including bags and jackets and other garments. Fashion Week has been good for me and I will be back next year. The facilities are very good."
Ahmad M. Akil, Managing Director, Akil Bros, Lebanon

"We have our own brand of plush toys in Russia but we want to expand more into gifts, so we have come here to meet new suppliers. We have found interesting ideas, such as dishes and magnetic stationery, plus Christmas decorations. We appreciate the efforts of the HKTDC to arrange the networking reception and seminars ¡ª it is important to share experiences with other people in this economic crisis."
Anna Kalinina, Purchasing Department, Gulliver & Co, Russia
"I have come here for the first time to look for new suppliers ¡ª our company operates 20 outlets in Thailand. I am mainly looking for houseware, such as pots, pans and gadgets, as well as luggage. It is easy to find one¡¯s way around the fair and the organisation is good."
Arunee Tulaya-Anukit, General Manager, General Goods Merchandising Center, Robinson Department Store Public Company Limited, Thailand
