Raymond
Yip is the Assistant Executive Director of the Hong
Kong Trade Development Council (TDC), the statutory
organisation responsible for promoting and developing
Hong Kong's external trade in products and services.
Mr
Yip started his career with John Swire & Sons (HK)
Ltd. He joined the TDC in 1979 and has worked in a variety
of positions and offices, including New York, Tokyo
and London. His more recent postings include: Director,
Information Service (e-commerce development); Regional
Director, Western Europe/Middle East and Africa (based
in London); Director, Service Promotion and Director,
Industry Promotion.
He
currently oversees the Exhibitions and Exhibition Services
divisions, overseeing the TDC's portfolio of annual
trade and public fairs in Hong Kong, which attract more
than 27,000 exhibitors and 600,000 buyers from Hong
Kong and around the world every year. Seven of these
events are among the largest of their kind in Asia and
several rank among the top three in the world.
Born
and raised in Hong Kong, Mr Yip graduated from the Chinese
University of Hong Kong with an honours degree in Business
Administration. He attended the Columbia Senior Executive
Programme in 2003 and holds a Graduate Professional
Diploma in E-Business, awarded by Michigan State University.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing
of the UK.
Mr
Yip is married with three children.
