The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade. It employs about 800 regular employees in Hong Kong and 200 employees in its 29 overseas and mainland branch offices around the world. It seeks a dynamic and resourceful professional to fill the following position.

Head of Human Resources (Ref No. “HHR/TDC”)

The candidate will report to the Director of Corporate Development. He/She will have overall responsibility for all aspects of HR functions in the Head Office in Hong Kong and HKTDC’s overseas and mainland offices. He/She will also be responsible for developing, formulating and implementing human resource management and staff development strategies in alignment with HKTDC’s objectives and operations. He/She will assist the senior management in facilitating organisational changes to meet operational needs.

This is a senior management position and the successful candidate is expected to be proactive and decisive, be able to influence others and command respect from all levels of employees, irrespective of nationality. He/She should display strong work ethics and high degree of integrity. The candidate should meet the following specific requirements:

• Tertiary education preferable;
• At least 15 years’ working experience in human resource functions (including staff training and development), of which 10 years should be at a senior managerial level in a sizable organisation;
• Proven success in HR management; a track record in organisational and staff development and talent management;
• Strong leadership skills, excellent communication (English and Chinese) and interpersonal skills; and
• Excellent writing English skills are important (the shortlisted candidates may be required to demonstrate these skills including a writing assignment.); good written and spoken Chinese is also necessary; fluency in Putonghua is an advantage.

Remuneration and Benefits:

We will offer the successful candidate two-year contract terms with prospects for renewal upon expiry, subject to performance. Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience, plus an appropriate contract-end gratuity.
